Galway's West Edge Creative

West Edge Creative needed an upgrade in order to meet the increasing demands of their music studio. When they came to us, we suggested and installed an Apple Mac Pro, a Pro Tools HD 3 Accel system and D-Command worksurface. The installation caused West Edge minimum disruption and gave them great potential for continued growth.

Who they are

Based in Galway, West Edge Creative aim to provide the most up-to-date music and post-production facilities in the west of Ireland. Sean Horsman from West Edge has been touring for many years as a live engineer, working with artists like Elbow, McFly and Franz Ferdinand.

With West Edge Creative going from strength to strength in recent years, the company required a studio upgrade to ensure it was able to meet the increasing demand. To do this, they needed fast processing power and a high level of creative flexibility.

How we helped

The main priority was to equip the studio with the latest technology. One of our audio consultants, Rob Holsman, suggested an Apple Mac Pro with a Pro Tools HD 3 Accel system and D-Command worksurface. The company wanted to increase the range of services they could offer, and this would be met with fast processing power and a command system that allowed for a smooth workflow.

Our engineers completed the install without any problems. When the D-Command worksurface with fader extension was implemented, West Edge were given access to a system that maximised the studio engineers' hands-on control.

How they benefited

In upgrading the studio and bringing it up-to-date, we provided West Edge with a high-level of flexibility. The installation has allowed the company to further its work in the music industry, with the ability to mix TV and DVD recordings, and produce albums in-house.
